Sir Garfield Sobers

West Indies cricketers were famous for their aggressive and talented playing. By the way, the first person who knocked 6 sixes in an over was also a cricketer of the West Indies. After 17 years no cricket player managed to repeat the feat but Indian Ravi Shastri matched Sobers in a single over when he smashed 6 sixes. Shastri, the second cricketer to be a part of the famous “shameful 36-run” club, did it during his playing days on January 19th, 1985, in a Ranji Trophy game playing for Bombay (Mumbai) against Baroda. Shastri got into the record books smacking six sixes off the left-arm Baroda spinner Tilak Raj. Shastri scored the fastest double century in the History of First-Class cricket on the Llyods ground at Port-of-Spain in 113 minutes, carrying his bat through the innings with an unbeaten 200 n.o.

Herschelle Gibbs

The first batsman to smack 6 sixes in an over in international cricket was former South Africa star Herschelle Gibbs. The only thing that was bigger than the stage on which the Proteas opener pulled it off, was that his demolition mode had kicked in. Gibbs took bowler Van Bunge to the cleaners and sent him to the stands six times in one over during the 2007 World Cup while facing the Netherlands.
